Starting November 17th, BATA will issue follow-up violations for toll notices not paid after cash collection was suspended on the Bay Area’s seven state-owned bridges in March 2020.
Drivers will first get a reminder to pay their toll. They will have 30 days to pay, and then they will receive a 1st violation notice with no penalty. If they still do not pay their toll, they will receive a 2nd violation notice, still with no penalty. If they still do not pay their toll, they may have a hold put on their vehicle registration with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
