I qualify as a carpool on the 101 San Mateo, 101/SR-85 Santa Clara, I-580, I-680 Contra Costa, I-880 or SR-237 express lanes. Why did I receive a violation notice for my carpool trip?

For carpools, motorcycles and other eligible vehicles to receive discounted tolls in the 101 San Mateo, 101/SR-85 Santa Clara, I-680 Contra Costa, I-880 and SR-237 express lanes, your FasTrak Flex or FasTrak CAV toll tag must be set to the proper position and associated with a valid FasTrak account. Be sure to add your license plate to your FasTrak account.

To find a retail location near you to pick up a FasTrak Flex toll tag, visit the Get FasTrak page. We recommend that you call ahead to make sure that FasTrak Flex toll tags are in stock.

NOTE: Solo drivers in eligible clean air vehicles do not qualify as a carpool in the 101 San Mateo, 101/SR-85 Santa Clara, I-680 Contra Costa, I-880 and SR-237 express lanes. To receive a discounted toll, you must use a FasTrak CAV toll tag. Single-occupant CAVs using a FasTrak Flex or FasTrak CAV set in position 2 or 3+ may be cited by CHP.
