I have recently been charged tolls for crossing the Benicia-Martinez Bridge going back to 2022. Why am I being charged for this now?

The Bay Area Toll Authority corrected an issue where crossings on one lane of the Benicia-Martinez Bridge between February 8 and September 30, 2022, had been recorded by the FasTrak system but were not processed. All toll crossings for February 8 through February 10 and August 1 through September 30, 2022, were processed before the end of 2022. The remaining toll crossings occurring between February 11 and July 31, 2022, were processed more recently, and are nearly completed. These charges may have come to you as an invoice or appeared in your FasTrak or License Plate account. We apologize for the delay in these charges and any confusion it may have caused.

Am I being charged twice for crossings I made on the Benicia-Martinez Bridge in 2022? Didn't I pay the toll when I crossed the bridge?
No. The delayed charges or invoice for tolls account only for the unprocessed charges, and not a repeat charge of previously paid tolls.

Am I responsible for any fees associated with these delayed charges?
There are no penalties assessed for these affected Benicia-Martinez Bridge crossings that occurred between February 11 and July 31, 2022, because the tolls had not been posted at that time. I made many more crossings on the Benicia-Martinez Bridge in 2022. I don't see charges in my account, and I haven't received an invoice for all of these transactions. Will I be charged later for these?
Of the affected Benicia-Martinez Bridge crossings between February 11 and July 31 2022, only the most recent transactions will be posted, up to a maximum of six crossings per account. Tolls for additional crossings beyond the maximum of six crossings in this period have been waived.
