What is a FasTrak CAV toll tag?

The FasTrak Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) toll tag is only issued to and can only be used by eligible clean air vehicles. This special toll tag communicates to roadside toll equipment that the car is eligible for toll free or discounted travel in Bay Area Express Lanes. The FasTrak CAV toll tag is required for eligible clean air vehicles traveling in the 101 San Mateo, 101/SR-85 Santa Clara, I-680 Contra Costa, I-880 and SR-237 express lanes, but may be used at any FasTrak toll location. Eligible clean air vehicles can use a FasTrak Flex toll tag to pay for bridge tolls and to travel toll free in the other Bay Area Express Lanes.

The FasTrak CAV toll tag may be ordered online and a valid DMV-issued clean air decal certificate is required. A FasTrak CAV toll tag may only be used in the car to which it is registered. Eligibility for discounts will automatically expire when the CAV decal expires. Learn more about the FasTrak CAV toll tag.
