Enjoy convenient, fast and cost-effective travel on Bay Area bridges, express lanes and SFO parking facilities with FasTrak’s easy-to-use electronic toll pay system. The information below will guide you through the process of ordering a new toll tag (also known as a “transponder”), registering a toll tag you already have and opening a web account to manage your FasTrak activity.
Our online ordering process is the easiest way to get started with FasTrak. Through this process, you will automatically create a FasTrak web account and FasTrak will mail your toll tags to you. Once you receive your FasTrak toll tag(s) in the mail, follow our tips below for using FasTrak.
Some Costco and Walgreens locations have toll tags available for pick-up and immediate use. If you pick up a toll tag at a retail store, you must register it online and create an account through our web account set-up process.

To Order by Mail
You can order a FasTrak toll tag through US mail by printing and mailing in a FasTrak application form. The FasTrak account application form has all of the instructions you need to complete this process.
Once FasTrak receives your application, a web account will be created for you. When your toll tag arrives in the mail, you can complete your account set-up through our website.
Choosing the Right Toll Tag
FasTrak has three types of toll tags: Standard, Flex and CAV. If you only plan on using FasTrak on bridges, a FastTrak Standard toll tag is all you need.
Carpools and motorcycles need a FasTrak Flex toll tag to receive toll discounts in Bay Area Express Lanes. A FasTrak Flex toll tag also works on bridges and to pay for parking at San Francisco International Airport.
If you drive an eligible clean air vehicle (CAV), you’ll need a FasTrak CAV toll tag to receive discounted single-occupant travel in all Bay Area Express Lanes.
Ordering Toll Tags
You can order as many toll tags as you need. Each toll tag will come with a $25 pre-paid balance for tolls. FasTrak waives the toll tag security deposit for up to 3 tags per account. Accounts with more than 3 toll tags will be charged a $5 refundable deposit for each additional toll tag. View FAQs about ordering toll tags.
Using Your New Toll Tag
Once your FasTrak account is open and you have your toll tag, follow our instructions for mounting the toll tag inside your vehicle.
When properly mounted, your FasTrak toll tag will allow you to pay tolls electronically at any FasTrak-designated toll facility located on all Bay Area toll bridges, express lanes and SFO parking facilities. FasTrak can also be used at some toll locations in Southern California. View map of where FasTrak can be used.
